The Myth of Kuzuryū 　－　Mixed Media by HUNKEL
 
地元山梨県に伝わる九頭龍伝説に着想を得て描いた作品。ティッシュペーパーを素材に用いて、半立体的に龍を描いている。ティッシュペーパーシュリンクアート。ティッシュペーパーに液体糊を染み込ませて形造り、乾いて固まる時にできるシワ模様を活かしたオリジナルの表現技法。乾燥前と乾燥後の二期に分けて彩色を施すことにより、乾燥後の彩色ではシワ模様の盛り上がった部分にだけ色が乗り、シワ模様の美しさが浮かび上がる。
 
This work was inspired by the legend of the nine-headed dragon, a local legend in Yamanashi Prefecture. Using tissue paper as the material, the dragon is depicted in a semi-three-dimensional form. It's tissue paper shrink art. The tissue paper is impregnated with liquid glue and shaped, and the original technique makes use of the wrinkled patterns that appear as it dries and hardens. By applying the color in two stages, before and after drying, the color is applied only to the raised parts of the wrinkled patterns when the paper dries, bringing out the beauty of the wrinkled patterns.
