These are the familiar wildflowers and plants found in spring. Insects are scattered here and there, too—the cabbage white butterfly, the pale grass blue, the ladybug, the Japanese carpenter ant (though you might not spot it in the image)...
I painted this with the feeling of gathering fragments of the spring scenery that unfolds right at our feet.
It is a truly tiny world of spring, measuring 15.8 x 22.7 cm.
